The Banner upgrade was a success. We are now on version 8.4.1.
The Summer I and Summer II schedules are available for viewing. Summer registration will open on February 14. The priority registration schedule is available on http://www.wmich.edu/registrar/calendars/timeticketSummer.html.
Waitlisting is a course management tool that helps Chairs and Deans monitor course demand. From the student perspective, it allows them to reserve a "place in line" and eliminates the need to continuously check GoWMU to see if a seat is available.
We have heard very positive comments from students as well as department staff since we introduced the waitlist feature last March. Here is one response I recently received, “ I like the waiting list system. I did many fewer overloads than in past semesters. It puts the responsibility on the students to be proactive and get on the list rather than coming to me or to the instructor and asking for permission to be added . ”
This Spring semester 487 sections were enabled for waitlisting. If you are interested in adding the waitlist option to a Summer I, Summer II or Fall section, it isn’t too late. Just submit a pink sheet to the Registrar’s Office and we will add the waitlisted seats to Banner. If you would like more information on waitlisting, please contact me.
