It is expected that the construction of the new Sangren building will begin as soon as this spring semester ends. To start, the library will be emptied, and the south area of Sangren which houses the large lecture halls will be torn down to make room for the new building. This means that the lecture halls, 2301, 2302, 2303 and 2304 Sangren are not being scheduled for use beyond this spring semester. In addition, classes which had been scheduled for summer courses in classrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors on the south side of the building have been moved. These classrooms could be affected by the noise of the demolition process during this summer, so we are avoiding the use of these rooms during summer I and II.
This is a reminder that the last few weeks of the semester, with exams approaching, can be a time of increased stress for our students. If you observe a student who seems unduly stressed or anxious, please use the student concern form to report this. Staff members in Student Affairs will follow-up with the student. From here, http://wwwwmichedu/students/healthhtml, you will see a link on the top right to the student concern form.
Also, there is a link to this form from the Registrar’s site, click on the faculty/staff tab and you’ll see the link in the navigation menu on the left.
