Please note that the final changes to spring 2010 schedules are due in this office on July 31, by 5:00 pm. Contact Michele, 7-3869, or email@example.com with any questions.
We will be eliminating the use of the Billing address in Banner to decrease the number of active address types we have in Banner. This is in preparation for the Data Coordination project between Peoplesoft and Banner, which will happen later in the fall or early Spring.
We will be using 2 address types for the students in Banner. They will be the PR-Permanent address and the MA-Current Local address.
OIT will be inactivating all of the active Billing addresses on Monday August 3rd. We will be running a program to convert all active Billing addresses to either the PR or MA address based on the dates the addresses were last updated. We are hoping to have a smooth conversion, but there may be some addresses that will need to be corrected. A message will go out with the email to students with the Fall tuition invoices, informing them to check their address information.
Also on August 3rd, the Banner self service, where the students change their address, will only reflect the PR-Permanent address and MA-Current Local address to view and update.
Staff in the offices who update addresses, should no longer be using the BI-Billing address. The description of the BI-Billing address in Banner will be changed to "DO NOT USE". Staff should be using only the PR-Permanent and MA-Current Local address types.
The international students will still have an IN-international address, but they will not be able to change that on the web.
Please note that any Banner jobs that use the BI-Billing address in the address hierarchy will need to be changed. Also any jobs that run thru Appworx that use the address; will need to have the address hierarchy reviewed.
The decision has been made beginning with the fall 2009 semester, to no longer allow students to charge Parking permits to their student account. There were several reasons for this decision. Students will be paying when getting the Parking permit. There may be some exceptions made to this by Parking Services for the fall semester, since the students were told at Orientation that they can charge the amount to their student account. Parking Services does have this message on their website found at http://parking.wmich.edu/.
Have a great week,
