Tuition

At the July 2nd meeting, the Board of Trustees set tuition/fees for the coming year. These new rates are on the tuition web site, wmich.edu/registrar/tuition.

In addition, the tuition calculator has been updated with these new rates. The calculator can be found on wmich.edu/registrar/tuition/coa.

Orientation

This summer’s orientation has concluded for the bulk of our incoming students. During orientation this summer 3,101 new incoming freshmen registered for their fall courses.

There are two ‘make-up’ orientation sessions scheduled this month, July 10 and 13, for those students who could not make an orientation in June. And there is the final orientation session scheduled for September 1.

One-Stop for fall 2009

Dates and times for the One-Stop Convenience Center have been set and can be found on wmich.edu/registrar/onestop.

Course offerings page changes

 A new search option has been added which allows a search by general education area. Students will be able to more easily courses which will satisfy any of the eight gen ed area requirements as well as the proficiencies.

In addition, note the ATIS name change from WMU-ATIS E-Learning Dist Ed to WMU-On Line Education.

And, two other changes are now in place:

• The ILW instructional method description is changing from Individual Learning Web to Open Learning
• The BLS instruction method description is changing from blended learning semester to Hybrid. 

Diploma address

We are now phasing out the use of a ‘diploma address’ for students. Beginning with the December 2009 class, diplomas will be sent to the student’s permanent address.

Upcoming dates

• Tuesday, July 7 - last day for 50% refund for complete withdrawal
• Monday, July 20 – last day for 25 % refund for complete withdrawal
• Monday, July 20 – last day to withdraw for Summer II classes
• Friday, August 14 – last day of classes for Summer II
• Tuesday, August 18 – grades due at noon
