Freshman Orientation

Orientation for new beginning freshmen begins today, about 265 students are expected on campus with their parents for the 1 ½ day program. Overall, there are about 3000 students now registered for the 14 sessions in June.

Catalogs for 2009-2010

The new catalogs for the coming academic year are now available. The link is http://catalog.wmich.edu. Previous catalogs are archived and also available for viewing at this same link.

Last day to withdraw

Today is the last day students can withdraw for summer I courses, withdrawals can be processed by students through GoWMU through 11:59 pm this evening.

Students who wish to drop a course after the Monday because of genuine hardship (i.e., illness, death in the immediate family) must be passing the course, and must complete the late withdrawal form which requires the signature of the instructor in the course.

Other items

Spring grading is now closed. Any students who had not received a grade for a spring course now have an ‘I’ reported, instructors will need to complete the removal of incomplete form to replace the ‘I’ grade.

Please note a new instructor of record has been approved. This new policy can be found on http://www.wmich.edu/registrar/faculty-staff/instructors/InstructorofRecord.pdf. Please keep this in mind as you schedule for Spring 2010.

Upcoming dates

• Monday, June 1 – Last day students can withdraw from Summer I courses
• Wednesday, June 24 – last day of classes for Summer I
• Thursday, June 25 – Summer II classes begin at 8:00 am
• Saturday, June 27 – Commencement
• Tuesday, June 30 – Grades due at noon
• Wednesday, July 1 – last day of drop/adds for Summer II
