Summer I

Summer I courses begin this morning at 8:00 am. Please ensure that all courses in your department have an instructor of record listed in Banner prior to census on May 11.

New websites, features

The Registrar’s website has a new look, see: http://www.wmich.edu/registrar. The site is now organized by user’s role. Click on the Faculty/Staff tab at the top for a page dedicated to information for you. There is also a direct link to the calendar page from the tab at the top.

Comments and suggestions are welcome, please let me know what you think!

Also, a new cost of attendance calculator is available for students and their parents. There is a link to the calculator on the student tab under tools. This calculator will give an estimate of the total cost of attendance at WMU including tuition, fees, room and board, books, as well as personal expenses.

Pandemic planning, swine flu (H1N1)

While WMU does have critical incident response team in place to deal with any incident, an additional group has been meeting for almost two years to ensure that we are prepared in case of a pandemic. A website is being created which will provide general information, faq’s for students and faculty/staff, as well as links to other websites with further information. Look for further information on this soon.

Upcoming Dates

• Monday, May 4 – Summer I classes begin at 8:00 am
• Friday, May 8 – last day of drop/adds for Summer I
• Monday, May 11 – last day departments have access to adjust student schedules
• Monday, May 11 – Summer I census
• Tuesday, May 12 – Late add fee begins – for students adding a course(s) who have no courses on their schedule; fee is $100 per added course
• Friday, May 15 - Last day to receive 50% tuition refund for a complete withdrawal
• Monday, May 25 – Memorial Day recess – no classes
• Friday, May 29 - Last day to receive 25% tuition refund for a complete withdrawal
• Monday, June 1 – Last day students can withdraw from Summer I courses
• Wednesday, June 24 – last day of classes for Summer I
• Saturday, June 27 – Commencement
• Tuesday, June 30 – Grades due at noon
