At this time of year, as we approach the end of the semester, final exams, deadlines for papers and other projects, students often feel additional pressure and tension. The busyness of the holidays can add to the stress. So this is just a reminder to be aware of the anxiety this season can bring to our students. If you see students struggling beyond what seems a 'normal' end of the semester level of stress, the student concern form is a way to report your concerns. This form can be found on: www.studentworld.wmich.edu/health.html.
Registration for Spring 2009 continues, currently there are 18,895 students registered, this compares to 18,813 at the same time last year. Registration continues through the drop and period, ending at the end of the day, Friday, January 9th.
The schedule for final exams can be found on the Registrar’s website, see: www.wmich.edu/registrar/finalexam.html. All final exams are scheduled according to this schedule, in the classroom where the course normally meets, unless arrangements have been made with this office for a different room.
If there are needs for classroom space for review sessions or any other meetings during finals, please contact this office to reserve a room. I appreciate your help in eliminating any potential room conflicts so that finals can be given smoothly.
As usual, any make-up final exams are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 12th, from 12:30-2:30.
November 26 – Thanksgiving recess begins at noon.
