Orientation

Orientation for new freshmen begins next Monday, June 2. There are 14 sessions scheduled, which run through the month of June. Over 3100 students and more than 4800 parents have registered for these sessions. See the complete schedules on: www.wmich.edu/fye/orientation/schedule.html.

Advising website

A new website, www.wmich.edu/advising, provides students with links to information on advising offices, support services, information on general education, as well as many other sites, in one location. This would be a great site to link to from departments sites, and to provide for students who need more information.  It is a new site, so please feel free to send me any comments or suggestions for improvement!

At the bottom of the site there is a link to an advisors site, which provides more links specifically important to advising staff.

Graduation deadlines

You will be seeing graduation posters displayed around campus encouraging students to apply for graduation in a timely manner and reminding them that the deadlines are:

Cermony	Deadline to apply

April	December 1
June	February 1
August 1	February 1

Undergraduates are encouraged to apply for graduation when they have completed 88 hours, graduate students two semesters prior to their anticipated graduation date.

Upcoming Dates

May 30 - Last day to receive 25% tuition refund for a complete withdrawal from all Summer I courses.

• June 2 – last day to withdraw from Summer I courses
• June 9 - Spring 2009 master schedule due on Student Information System by departments. Galley corrections due a Registrar's Office
• June 25 – Summer I classes end
• June 28 - Commencement  (see: www.wmich.edu/commencement)
• July1 – Summer I grades due at noon
