Welcome back to campus, I hope you had a great spring break!
New online change of grade form now available for instructors:
The Removal of Incomplete Grade/Change of Grade Form is found on the Faculty Menu in GoWMU. This form replaces the current online change of grade form and should be used to remove an incomplete grade, change an erroneous grade or re-evaluate a grade.
Report of an Incomplete Grade Form – also available on the Faculty menu in GoWMU.
When assigning a grade of incomplete, use this form to identify the remaining work assignments and the time frame allotted for completion of the course. This online form replaces the paper form currently in use.
Fall 2008 Registration
Fall registration opens next Monday, March 17th at 8:00. See www.wmich.edu/registrar/timeticketFall.html for the priority registration schedule.
FERPA question of the week:
True or False ?
The student scholarship chair of a WMU fraternity has asked that you provide the grade point averages for all of their members, in order that scholarships and academic honors can be awarded. This information can be provided.
Last day to withdraw
Monday, March 17th is the last day students can withdraw online for Spring 2008 courses. Students wishing to withdraw can do so through GoWMU, through 11:59 pm on Monday the 17th. A withdrawal will result in a grade of ‘W’ on their record for the course or courses withdrawn from.
Semi-Annual Security Reauthorization
The spring semi-annual security authorization for users of Internet Native Banner (INB) will begin the week of March 17. Reports will be sent through campus mail to the contact people for each area. You will have 2.5 weeks in which to verify the information and return it to the registrar's office. Remember that for the departments that do not return the reports, user access will be locked. If you have any questions, contact Kathy Rix (kathy.rix@wmich.edu).
Midterm grading
Midterm grading has now been closed for this Spring 2008 semester. Note that students will still be able to see their midterm grades through GoWMU.
FERPA answer:
FALSE. The student scholarship chair for the fraternity is not a "University official" and therefore may not have access to grade point averages of its members. All members of the fraternity must sign a written release authorizing the scholarship chair access to their grade point averages.
