Midterm grading

• As of yesterday, midterm grades were submitted in 196 sections, with a total of 6,464 grades given. 
• Midterm grading will remain open through the end of the day Friday, October 26th.

Spring 2008

• Registration is now open for Spring 2008
• See www.wmich.edu/registrar/timeticket.html for the priority registration schedule.
• The last group, freshmen with zero hours, will be eligible to register on Nov. 16th.

FERPA question of the week:

A student has the right to inspect and review an essay submitted by the student, even if the teacher does not intend to return it to the student or to permanently maintain it. True or False?

Upcoming Dates:

Monday, Oct. 22 – Spring 2008 registration opened
Friday, Oct. 26 – Last day for instructors to enter midterm grades (5:00 pm)
Monday, Oct. 29 – Fall 2008 schedules available to depts. for update
Monday, Nov. 5 - Last day for students to withdraw for Fall 2007.
Monday, Nov. 5 – Summer I & II final review begins
Friday, Nov. 9 – Summer I and II final corrections due by 5:00 pm.

April 2008 Commencement

The deadline for students to apply for April commencement is December 1, 2007. 

Applications for undergraduate students for a graduation audit are available in the College Advising Offices.  Major slips, minor slips and curriculum guides must be secured from the appropriate advisors and submitted to the Office of the Registrar. A $45 application fee will be applied to the student account.

Graduate students can find the graduation audit application in the Office of the Registrar or on the website. The completed application should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar. A $45 fee will be applied to the student account. A completed Graduate Program of Study form must also be on file in the Office of the Registrar before the academic record can be audited for degree requirements.

FERPA answer

True, as long as the record does exist, it is part of the student’s education record and the student has the right to access it.
