Banner outage

Both Internet native Banner and Self-Serve Banner will be down this Friday, July 13th, beginning at 2:30. We expect both to be back up around noon on Saturday, July 14th.  The outage is necessary to complete the installation of the new faculty administration module of Banner.

Summer I grading

We still have approximately 680 Summer I grades outstanding.  Please note that grading for Summer I will remain open until about August 3rd.  After that time, Incompletes will be entered for any and all ‘null’ grades.  Instructors will then need to complete change of grade forms.

Upcoming Dates

  • July 9 Late add fee begins for Summer II (Students adding a course, without any courses on their schedule, are charged $100 per course added.)
  • July 23 Last day to withdraw for Summer II courses
  • Aug 17 Last day of Summer II classes
  • Aug 21 Grades due at noon for Summer II
  • July 23 – Aug 3 Spring 2008 final review by departments and deans

Incompletes

Just a reminder that instructors who have a student(s) who cannot complete the work for an incomplete within the given year, can extend the incomplete by notifying the Registrar’s Office.  Either a letter, typed on department letterhead, or an email from the instructors’ wmich.edu address with the students’ name, WIN, course, semester incomplete was given, and the new deadline is all we need.  The decision to extend an incomplete is the instructor’s decision and should be based on the student’s situation.  In the absence of the instructor, the department chair can authorize the extension.
