On everyone’s minds this week is grading! Please remind instructors that grades are due by noon tomorrow, Tuesday, May 1st! Grades must be submitted online, we will not accept grades on paper, nor over the phone.
We will shut down the system tomorrow shortly after noon to begin the grade roll process, so that instructors who miss the deadline will not be able to enter grades until later in the day. I expect that we will be able to complete the process by late afternoon, and will reopen the system then. After the system reopens, grades will be available for students to view, probably about 5:00 pm.
Those instructors wishing to change a grade they have submitted will need to submit a change of grade form.
Those instructors who have not submitted a grade for a student, may do so online, for 30 days.
Also please remember that FERPA prohibits giving out grade information over the phone!
This new online placement tool makes its debut this week. New, incoming freshmen have been sent information on this placement exam, and are asked to take the test online before coming to campus for Orientation in June. The results will be interfaced from the exam software to SIS, and will be used to place new students in Mathematics courses. Students will take the online test through the portal, in the online testing channel they will find on the Student Services tab. For more information, please contact the Mathematics Department.
