Welcome to Monday, and the first full week of the Fall semester! Please note the following registration related dates:
Census will be taken at the end of the day on Tuesday, Sept. 12th. This means it is critical that all sections have an instructor of record, and that the correct instructor is listed. Much reporting is done from census data, so this data needs to be accurate.
Scheduling for Summer I/II for 2007 will begin on September 18th, with schedules due back in this office on October 2nd.
Note that round 1 of the Summer schedules will be built in the current version of SIS. The final round of Summer and the fall schedules will be built after the upgrade to version 7.3.
See the website, http://www.wmich.edu/registrar/ImportantDates06-07.html for all these upcoming scheduling deadlines.
The Fall/spring scheduling matrix has been tweaked a bit with some minor time changes. The changes are effective for Fall 2007 scheduling. The most important part of these changes includes the necessity for courses to be scheduled within the parameters. Courses scheduled outside the scheduling rules can create scheduling problems for our students; they certainly do create room scheduling issues. Questions regarding these scheduling parameters should come to me. Please see the registrar's website for this new matrix and parameters.
Please know that the staff in this office are doing the best they can to accommodate room change requests. As you know, the room situation is much tighter than normal. We'll do all we can to ensure that courses meet in the best possible classroom. If your faculty encounter problems with rooms regarding equipment or issues of any other kind, please let me know and I'll do what I can to get things corrected.
Another reminder that we will make the move to SIS7.3 beginning on October 6th.
SISwill not be available, at all, from Friday, October 6th, through Monday, October 9th, due to the upgrade.
Training on SIS7.3 begins on September 13th, see the bannertraining website for dates, times and locations. Accounts receivable training dates are also listed on the training website.
