Online Catalog

The news this week is the online 2006-07 undergraduate catalog! This new online catalog can be found through the link on the WMU homepage, and there is also a link from the registrar's page.

This catalog is fully searchable by course, major or program. Each page is easily printable. And students, or anyone, can save information of interest on a particular program or course in the 'my portfolio' section.

The 2006-07 graduate catalog will be available online early in the fall semester. Both the undergraduate and graduate catalogs will be published online once a year, with previous versions of the catalogs archived online. Catalogs will no longer be printed.

Please let me know if you have any questions on this powerful new tool.

Important dates

  • July 24 - last day to withdraw for Summer II, 2006
  • August 1 - last day for students to apply for December 2006 graduation
  • August 1-8 - final review of Spring 2007 schedule
  • August 18 - last day of classes for Summer II, 2006
  • August 22 (noon) - grades due for Summer II, 2006
  • September 5 (8:00 am) - Fall classes begin

Please help us by reminding students of the August 1 deadline to apply for December graduation. Students need to turn in their completed audits in this office by August 1 if they plan to graduate in December 2006. Note that students can now turn in their audits even if they have a financial hold on their account.

There are still some sections for Summer I and II without instructor names. Please add these names as quickly as possible for these sessions, and also for fall as names are known.

Fall Tuition and Fees

Information on fall tuition and fees can be found through the link from the www.wmich.edu main website, or directly www.wmich.edu/tuition. Note that the major change is in the assessment of tuition for graduate students. Graduate students will pay by the credit hour effective fall 2006. This means that graduate students taking courses at the 5000 level and up will pay graduate tuition by the credit hour; graduate students taking courses at the 4999 level or below will pay undergraduate (upper level) tuition by the credit hour.

Other items: Information on the Provost search is now available online, see: www.wmich.edu/provost/search.

Grading is still open online for Summer I, 2006. This means that instructors who have not yet submitted a grade for a Summer I student can do so (actually this is the only way to submit the grade) online until approximately August 1st. All grade changes for grades which have already been submitted need to be turned in on paper as always.
