Registrar's Notes

December 18, 2006

Fall grades:

As you know, grades are due by noon tomorrow, Tuesday, December 19th. We will begin the process to roll grades to academic history shortly after noon. During this time, from noon until we reopen the system, instructors will not be able to submit grades. I expect that grades will be available and viewable for students sometime after 3:00 pm tomorrow.

All grades submitted after the deadline tomorrow will be available for students to view the day after the grade is submitted.

Spring 2007:

Classes begin on Monday, January 8th at 8:00 am.

A temporary one-stop will be set up in the ballroom in the Bernhard Center, from Monday, January 8th through Wednesday, January 10th. The hours will be 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. More information will be coming.

Other items:

We have now activated a new feature in SISwhich will create email notices to students (to their wmich.edu accounts) when a hold is placed on their account by any office or when a grade change is made. In the case of a hold, the email notice will alert the student that a hold has been placed by a particular office and will direct the student to GoWMU for more information. When a grade change is made, the email notice will direct students to GoWMU to view their unofficial transcripts which will include the new grade. Please continue to encourage students to view and to use their wmich.edu email accounts.
