Grades for Summer II are due at noon on Tuesday, August 22nd. Shortly after noon we'll shut things down while we do the grade processing run. Instructors will not be able to submit grades during this time, which will only be an hour or two at most. We expect grades to be available to students online, by about 3:00 pm. Grades submitted after this time will be available to students online on the following day.
Training sessions on the new version of SISwill begin in September. The dates and times are on the bannertraining website, www.wmich.edu/bannertraining. These are drop-in trainings, no reservation is needed.
I do strongly encourage all staff who use SISto plan on attending; the sessions will be in a computer lab for hands-on experience and will last about an hour.
The move to SIS7.3 will occur October 6-9.
Check the website for dates and times for the One-Stop, scheduled for Welcome Week through the first week of Fall classes.
Please double check to ensure that the Social Security Number is correct on all student appointment forms. When an incorrect SSN is found, payment to the student is delayed until the SSN is corrected.
On the Registrar's website: www.wmich.edu/registrar, under Forms and Services, there is a new area for department chairs. The first item is a list of dates and deadlines related to class schedules and registration as well as tenure and promotion related dates for the 2006-07 academic year. The second is a document containing University policies on students, information on grading, all you want to know about class scheduling, links to related documents, information on SIS, etc. This is an attempt to put together as much information as possible in a concise and easy to access way. Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas on topics that should be added.
