Fall 2014 Schedule Building
Just a reminder that Fall 2014 edits must be completed in Banner by the end of the day on Friday, November 22. If you have schedule building questions or need assistance, please contact Laura Thomas at email@example.com.
President Dunn signed a Reverse Transfer Agreement with West Shore Community College last month. This marks the twelfth agreement WMU has signed with Michigan community colleges. Reverse Transfer allows students to receive an associate degree by combining credits
completed at WMU with credits earned at the community college. More information on Reverse Transfer and a full list of our current partners can be found on the Registrar’s Office website at:
As of today, 1,034 students have been contacted regarding their eligibility for review under the Reverse Transfer Agreement. Student eligibility is based on the number of credits completed at WMU and the number of credits transferred from the partnering community college.
DSS Overflow Testing
Due to the increasing number of students that require test accommodations, the Office of Disability Services for Students (DSS) will offer overflow testing sites for the fall exam week, December 9-13. The DSS office overflow testing location will be available in 2030 Fetzer Center for up to 20 students requiring extended testing time accommodations only during the following times during the week of December 9:
Monday through Friday: 8 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m.
The primary testing location for students should be within the department with a test proctor or monitor. The DSS office provides testing accommodation services with a reader/scribe and adaptive technology by appointment during the following office hours:
Mondays through Thursdays: 8 a.m.; 11 a.m.; 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Fridays: 8 a.m.; 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The DSS office and overflow testing locations are not able to accommodate walk-in testing services. Please work with students to schedule a testing time in advance of the exam week. Please plan to deliver all exam materials to the DSS office on the main floor of Woodlawn Place 24
hours in advance of the scheduled exam date. Exams may also be faxed to the DSS office (387-0633), or sent via email to DSS-Exams@wmich.edu .
Instructors should specify the materials students are allowed to use in the testing room. Students are not permitted to take materials into the testing room that are not documented by the instructor. Exams will be returned directly to the department unless instructors make prior arrangements with the DSS office.
Instructors interested in volunteering as exam proctors at the overflow testing location in the Fetzer Center during exam week should contact Jayne Fraley-Burgett at 387-2120, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
