Registrar’s Notes – April 8, 2013

April 8, 2013

Course/Instructor Evaluation System (ICES)

A couple of changes that have been made to the ICES course evaluation system for this semester.
First, the on-line system will be open for an additional week. The system will open today and will close on April 26.

Second, an option has been added for administering the evaluations in class, having students use any device that can link to the Internet in an effort to increase response rates.  Instructors electing to use this option should test out their classroom in advance to make sure they have a good Internet connection.

Upcoming Textbook Requisition Change

Follett has been selected by the University to manage the WMU Bookstore operations effective April 11, 2013.  At that time, the existing textbook requisition process will be replaced with Follett’s adoption process.   Starting on April 15, the textbook requisition link in GoWMU will be redirected to Follett’s Online Adoption site.  Instructors will need to go to a Follett maintained site in order to enter or review course materials.

Detailed instructions on the new process will be available on the Registrar’s Office website under the “Faculty/Staff” tab.  Contact information for staff in the bookstore that can assist with the ordering process will also be included.   Please note, the textbook requisition system will not be available between April 11 and April 15.
