Waitlisting

Waitlisting provides students with the option of adding themselves to a waitlist in closed sections of a course and allows departments with the ability to track excess demands for seats in a course. Detailed information on waitlisting can be found on the Banner Training website. 

Reserved Seating

Reserved seating is a feature in Banner that allows departments to allocate seats to a specific population of students. The maximum capacity for a section can be divided and seats can be saved for students meeting certain criteria and a set number of seats can be left unreserved and available to the general student population. How can you help retention?

1. Report students not attending using the link on the Faculty Menu in GoWMU
2. Report students attending your class who are not registered by using the link on the Faculty Menu in GoWMU
3. Report any concerns regarding a student using the Student concern form.

Remember FERPA –

1. No posting of grades by any part of SSN or WIN
2. If you must post grades, use a randomly generated number known only to you and to the student.
3. Do not leave any graded student work in a public place for pickup
4. WMU’s policy on retention is that student work which is not returned must be retained for at least one semester.
