New cognos reports

Two new cognos reports are now available to assist with course planning. Located in the Registration Audit folder, the two reports are ‘Closed Sections’ and ‘Registration Audit’.
The first report, ‘Closed Sections’ will give a list of all unique failed registration attempts for sections by subject. This will provide a way for departments to be aware of the demand for their courses. The prompts to run this report are term, then subject. The second report, ‘Registration Audit’, generates a list of all unique registration errors for each section. These include prereq errors, time conflicts, and duplicate course errors.
Please let me know of any questions or concerns regarding these reports!

Summer I grading

Grading for this Summer I session is now open. Please note that final grades are due by noon on Tuesday, July 1st.

First year success brochure

As you meet with new students, this guide may be of assistance, it is available online,
www.wmich.edu/registrar/pdf/FY_success%20guide.pdf; all new freshmen receive a copy during Orientation this month. It includes deadlines and dates for the coming year, policy information, the fall final exam schedule, available resources on campus, a glossary of terms and other information useful for new students. We do have a few copies here in the office, please let me know if you’d like some for your area.

Upcoming dates

• June 25 – Summer I classes end
• June 26 – Summer II classes begin at 8:00 am
• June 28 - Commencement
• July1 – Summer I grades due at noon
• July 2 – Last day of drop/adds for Summer II
• July 4 – Fourth of July recess, no classes
• July 8 – Last day students can receive 50% tuition refund for complete withdrawal from Summer II courses
• July 21 – Last day students can receive 25% refund for complete withdrawal from Summer II courses
• July 21 – Last day students can withdraw from Summer II courses.
• August 1 – Last day students can apply for December graduation
• August 15 – Summer II session ends
• August 19 – Summer II grades due at noon
