The Summer I/II schedule will go to print this week. We expect to be able to distribute the printed schedule around the first of February. We will open up self-serve for viewing at the same time. Registration for Summer I and II opens on February 20th.
You may notice two new withdraw codes on SFAREGS. The code "WD" to be used in place of "WC", and "WX" will be used in place of "WW" during the 50% refund period. Therefore withdraws from January 18 to January 23 will appear as a "WD" if the withdraw was done in our office, or a "WX" if the withdraw was done through the web. The change will be seamless to the student on the web. This change was necessary to correct a problem in the way the refunds were being calculated during the 50% refund period.
Starting next Tuesday, January 24 the WC and WW codes will be used and the WD and WX codes will no longer work.
Please be careful when you assign instructors to classes. There may be more than one 'Tom Jones' in SIS, and if the wrong one is assigned as the instructor we create some problems! Note that you can do a search by SSN if necessary to ensure that you are using the correct name and WIN. The SSN search form is GUIALTI.
Enhancements added to Using Enterprise Directory Distribution Lists to E-mail Your Class
Previously only the instructor(s) of record could use this procedure to e-mail their class. The Office of Information Technology has enhanced the procedure so that in most cases the department chair and anyone in the department with a designation of office assistant, office associate, and/or office coordinator may also make use of that list (for example, an instructor cannot attend his/her class that day and has no access to e-mail, the office associate may use the list to send his/her class an e-mail to inform them). For instructions on using this procedure, please see: http://www.wmich.edu/oit/helpdesk/how-tos/email/email-classLDAP.html
Final review for fall schedules will be Feb. 3 - Feb. 10, with all changes due in this office by 5:00 pm on February 10th. Registration for Fall opens on March 27th. While we will not be printing a schedule of classes for fall, we will be printing a booklet essentially containing the first 12 or so pages of the schedule booklet. Included will be important dates, registration instructions, tuition/fees information, time ticketing, etc.
Thanks for all you do, have a great week. As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
