The amount of the award will be at least $2,000.00, payable winter semester during the year of the award. The award will be made to the finalist and paid through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the Fred P. Gault, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Award, a candidate must:
1. Be a Native American student with an expressed interest in a psychology major in the College of Arts and Sciences at Western Michigan University at the time of application.
2. Be enrolled in 12 credit hours at Western Michigan University during the semester in which the award is paid.
CRITERIA
The qualifications of applicants for the award will be evaluated according to scholarly performance and future goals.

BIOGRAPHICAL ESSAY
The biographical essay is limited to a single typewritten standard size sheet 8-1/2 x 11 inches. The purpose of this essay is to introduce yourself to the awards committee and indicate to them how you have satisfied the criteria.
Include in the essay a description of your participation in psychological research, the delivery of psychological service, any related extracurricular activities, as well as any honors you have received, and your future plans in psychology.
