John Austin, Ph.D.Dr. John Austin is a Professor of Psychology and a member of the industrial/organizational faculty. He received his B.S. from the University of Notre Dame in 1991 and completed his doctorate at Florida State University. Dr. Austin came to WMU in 1996 with a strong background in teaching, research and professional service.

He is a member of the board of editors for two professional journals and guest editor for three others. He has published widely in refereed journals and has edited two books. His areas of interest include managing performance problems in business and industrial settings and occupational safety and he serves as a consultant to organizations in those areas. Dr. Austin’s teaching responsibilities involve undergraduate and graduate courses in organizational psychology, consultation, and statistics.

Alyce Dickinson, Ph.D.Dr. Alyce Dickinson is a Professor of Psychology and a Fellow of Division 25, Experimental Analysis of Behavior, of the American Psychological Association. In 1995 she received the Outstanding Contributions Award from the Organizational Behavior Management Network, and in 2000, she received the Teaching Excellence Award from Western Michigan University's Alumni Association. She served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management for 17 years, and as an Editorial Board member for The Behavior Analyst. Her specializations include organizational systems analysis and the effects that individual and small group monetary incentive systems have on employee productivity and satisfaction.

Eric Fox, Ph.D.Dr. Eric Fox is an assistant professor of psychology and a member of the industrial/organizational faculty. He received his BA (1996) and MA (2000) in psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and his Ph.D. in Learning & Instructional Technology (2005) from Arizona State University. He has worked as an instructional designer and developer of web-based training in both corporate and academic settings, and received the 2004 Young Scholar Award from the Association for Educational Communications & Technology. His research and scholarly interests are focused on understanding how a functional and contextual analysis of language, cognition, instruction, and technology can be used to improve the performance of both individuals and organizations.

Brad Huitema, Ph.D.Dr. Brad Huitema is a Professor of psychology, a member of the industrial/organizational faculty and statistical consultant for business and several units of the University. He received his B.A. from Southern Illinois in 1961, his M.A. from Western Michigan University in 1962 and his Ph.D. from Colorado State in 1968.

His research interests include time series analysis, single organism and quasi-experimental design, and the evaluation of preventative health practices. His 1980 text, The Analysis of Covariance and Alternatives has been well received in the field. He is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and Behavioral Assessment and is a referee for several journals including The American Statistician, Behavioral Research Methods, Instruments, and Computers, The Journal of Psychopathology and Behavioral Assessment, Psychological Bulletin, and Psychometrika.

Heather McGee, Ph.D.Dr. Heather McGee is an assistant professor of Psychology and a member of the industrial/organizational faculty. She received her B.S. (1998), M.A. (2003), and Ph.D. (2004) from Western Michigan University. Her interests lie in improving organizational performance through interventions based on comprehensive behavioral systems analysis. Dr. McGee has designed, developed and implemented organizational performance solutions in a variety of industries and settings, including autism service providers, the pharmaceutical industry, education, and health and human services industries. These solutions have included performance-based instruction, performance management, behavioral systems changes, and lean sigma initiatives. Dr. McGee also serves on the editorial board of JOBM.

Adjunct Faculty

Dr. Maria Malott earned a Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University in 1987. Since 1993 to the present, she has served a Executive Director and Secretary Treasurer of the Association of Behavior Analysis International (ABA International), as well as Secretary treasurer of the Society for the Advancement for Behavior Analysis.

She has authored and coauthored numerous articles and two books, including “Paradox of Organizational Change (2003) and presented nearly 200 papers and workshops in 17 countries throughout North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. Past experiences included her role as Vice President of Manufacturing for a plastic production company in the Midwest and managing her consulting company dedicated to process improvement and organizational management for nearly two decades in a variety of industries, including service, manufacturing, retail, education, and government.

Dr. Kevin Munson is an adjunct faculty member and a Director of Leadership Development at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. He received his B.S. in Psychology and Organizational Communications from Western Michigan University in 1992, and an M.A. (1995) and Ph.D. (1998) in Psychology from West Virginia University. He has held variety of leadership positions in the field, serving numerous industries including automotive, power and energy, telecommunications, retail and pharmaceuticals. Dr Munson's professional interests include leadership development, performance improvement, organizational behavior management, instructional design, large-scale learning systems implementation, and e-Learning.
