Psychology Graduate Study Checklist


Masters Thesis

1. Meet with Advisor
Course work requirements: Behavior Analysis | Industrial/Organizational

2. Permission to Elect Thesis Credit Hours
Form found on The Graduate College web pages: http://www.wmich.edu/grad/forms

3. Program of Study
Form obtained from Psychology Graduate Training Secretary or download here: http://www.wmich.edu/psychology/grad/ Fill out form, have Advisor sign and then return to the Psychology Graduate Training Secretary.

4. Notification of Appointment to a Thesis Committee
Form found on The Graduate College web pages: http://www.wmich.edu/grad/forms

5. Apply for Graduation - Graduation Audit
Graduation and Application instructions and deadline dates:
http://www.wmich.edu/registrar/graduationaudit.html

6. Schedule defense with Psychology Graduate Training Secretary 3700 Wood Hall.

7. Signature forms required at orals.

a. Two original Thesis Approval forms which can be downloaded from The Graduate College forms page: http://www.wmich.edu/grad/forms These forms are turned in with your finished Thesis.

b. A Psychology Department yellow form can be obtained from the Psychology Graduate Training Secretary. The yellow forms is to be signed at your orals and then returned to the Psychology Graduate Training Office.

8. Completed Thesis is turned in to The Graduate College along with the signed white defense forms.

Masters Project

1. Meet with Advisor

Form obtained from Psychology Graduate Training Secretary or download here http://www.wmich.edu/psychology/grad/. Fill out form, have Advisor sign and then return to the Psychology Graduate Training Secretary.

3. Apply for Graduation - Graduation Audit

4. Required oral defense signature form.
Forms obtained from the Psychology Graduate Training Secretary.

Doctoral

1. Meet with Advisor
Course work requirements: Behavior Analysis | Clinical |

2. Permission to Elect Dissertation Credit Hours Form found on The Graduate College web pages: http://www.wmich.edu/grad/ All signatures required.

3. Comp Exam
Meet with Advisor. Contact Psychology Graduate Training Secretary to schedule a date to take exam.

4. Dissertation Committee Appointment Form
Form found on The Graduate College web page: http://www.wmich.edu/grad/forms
All committee members must initial. If your 4th committee member is not a faculty member from Western Michigan University you must obtain a vita from them and give it to the Psychology Graduate Training Secretary.

5. Program of Study (Graduate Training Office completes form) Please notify before you apply for graduation.

6. Apply for Graduation - Graduation Audit

7. Dissertation Defense Scheduling Form http://www.wmich.edu/grad/forms All program requirements must be completed the semester before you plan to defend.
Contact Graduate Training Office for form and room information. Form must be completed and one copy sent to the Graduate College at least 2 weeks before you plan on defending and the other copy to the Psychology Graduate Training Office. Failure to complete other steps may result in a delay for defense approval.

8. Signature forms required at orals.

a. Three original Dissertation Approval forms which can be downloaded from The Graduate College forms page: http://www.wmich.edu/grad/forms White forms are turned in with your finished Thesis.

b. A Psychology Department yellow form can be obtained from the Psychology Graduate Training Secretary.
