| The Doctoral Program in Behavior Analysis prepares students for teaching or for PhD level work with individuals and organizations in developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse, community mental health, education, government, business, and industry. A minimum of 85 semester hours is required, and a minimum grade of B is required in each course in the program. The student must have completed all MA requirements, including the MA project or acceptance of the MA thesis by the Graduate College, before additional academic credits can count for the Ph.D. degree. |

6360 Experimental Design & Analysis II 6970 Developmental Psychopathology 6970 Social & Cognitive Development of Children The student can select from courses not listed above or from courses offered outside of the Psychology Department. These courses must be relevant to the students career goals as a behavior analyst and approved by the students advisor prior to enrolling in the course. III. RESEARCH & PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE (27 hrs.) Area 8: Master's Thesis or Project (6 hrs.) 6970 ABA Project 7000 Master’s Thesis Area 9: Professional Experience (6-12 hrs.) 5470 Practicum in Organizational Performance 5980 Special Projects in PsychologyImprovement 5990 Practicum 6910 College Teaching Practicum 7100 Independent Research 6950 Doctoral Internship in Behavior Analysis (1 cr) Area 10: Doctoral Dissertation (15 hrs.) The student who does not do a master's thesis will need to do the equivalent before enrolling in PSY 730. This research would be evaluated by a three-person committee of the department faculty. The student may enroll in 6 credits of PSY 710 for this research. 7300 Doctoral Dissertation Area 11: Research Tools The student will demonstrate a working knowledge of two research tools. Method of Evaluation: Satisfactory completion of course work and/or a clear demonstration of competence in tool use in the preparation, implementation, and dissemination of research data. Research tools should be selected in conference with the student's dissertation committee. Area 12: Professional and Scholarly Activity Method of Evaluation: The student will complete a six-hour examination prepared by his or her doctoral committee. The area of study is defined by the student in consultation with his or her advisor and dissertation committee. Note: a course cannot satisfy more than one requirement in Areas 1-7 |
