"What is a PSSO Building Ambassador?" Well, a Building Ambassador would be responsible for greeting and meeting any employee in their building that is eligible to become a member of the PSSO. The Publicity Committee will notify you when a new employee starts in your building. Once you have that information, you will stop by their work area and introduce yourself as an ambassador, hand them our brochure and invite-escort them to one of the PSSO's bi-monthly meetings. It's that simple. You will also be provided a list of members in your building. The Publicity Committee or other PSSO Committees will occasionally be sending items that you are to deliver to the members. Time involved is about 10-15 minutes on average a week.

Here's what some of our ambassadors say:

"I volunteered to be an ambassadore to try to further the reputation of the PSSO among non-members, and to stay in contact with present members. It's fun to give the members in my building news as is breaks, and little gifts and incentives for joining. It also gives members a face to connect to the organization in case they have any concerns."
Deb White

"Being an ambassador has given me the opportunity to meet fellow members in my building that I may not otherwise have a chance to meet or talk with while at my normal work station."
Margo Kellogg

"I like interacting with people, and being an ambassador gives me a chance to touch base with my fellow workers throughout my building and share what's going on with PSSO."
Judith Kirk

"Meeting the people when I deliver the little things has been the best part of being an ambassador."
Lorrie Shipley

"Meeting new people and letting them know there is a network (PSSO) that works for their benefit."
Maralita Thomas

"I like being an ambassador because it gives me a chance to meet new people around campus, and put a face with a name. I think the members appreciate the personal touch!"
Paula Armstrong

"The best thing I like about being an ambassador is you get to meet a lot of nice people that you might not get to know otherwise."
Connie Penney

"What I like best about being a Building Ambassador is that I feel I am helping the PSSO and also helping the members on my list feel like they are an important part of PSSO"
Linda Spiker

"I like being an ambassador because people are so friendly and nice to talk to."
Joyce Fooy

"The one thing I really enjoy about being an ambassador is getting around and actually doing something for PSSO, feeling part of it."
Carole Lint

"I enjoy being a building ambassador for PSSO because it gives me the opportunity to get out of my cubicle and interact with other C/Ts in Sangren."
Joanne Barretta

"What I like best about being a building ambassador is helping to create a sense of community, which I think is very important for all of us...and having an excuse to visit with my colleagues is just an added bonus!"
Kathy Mitchell

"It gives me the opportunity to "sing" the praises of PSSO and what it does for us as well as meet some of the niceness people."
Ruth Mader
