Part-time faculty are paid on a per credit hour basis and may teach a maximum of nine credit hours in a semester and six credit hours in a session at the university. Exceptions to these credit hour limits must be submitted to and approved by the provost in advance. Part-time faculty must be evaluated at least annually or as they participate in the instructional program. (See section on Annual Performance Review.) (LINK at a later date)
The minimum pay rate is $700 per credit hour.
Federal law requires all new employees—including part-time faculty—to prove their eligibility for employment in the United States by providing documentation to their employers within the first three days of employment. Please see the relevant paragraph in the Part-time Appointment Letter (link below) and the Human Resources Web site for detailed information about I-9s.
All part-time teaching appointments must have signed letters-of-offer prior to processing.
