WMU United Way Campaign

Dear Friends,

With our WMU United Way campaign up and running, I want to thank you for your support and partnership. It really makes a difference! For example:

  • Early grade reading proficiency for students in area United Way programs has improved 61 percent.
  • More than 400 people have seen barriers to employment removed through United Way-driven partnerships.
  • Thousands of hungry adults and children received a total of 4.2 million pounds of food through United Way supported assistance programs.

United Way is focused on having a meaningful, measurable impact in education, health, financial stability and basic needs. That work—and the payoff in transformed lives—would be impossible without you.

By now, every faculty member, staff employee and retiree of WMU should have received a donation packet. For those who might not have received a packet, but are interested in contributing to this year's campaign, please email wmu-united-way@wmich.edu and materials will be sent to you.

If you’ve already given, thank you! You’ve upheld an important legacy of our University, one of generosity, compassion and community partnership. Together we demonstrate the power of collective impact that changes the story.

If you haven’t yet made your gift to United Way, I encourage you to join the cause. If you cannot contribute a monetary gift this year, consider serving as a volunteer or advocate for United Way. Thanks again for your continued support and your thoughtful consideration.

Most sincerely,

President John M. Dunn
