Dear Colleagues:
The inaugural WMU Day at the Capitol this past spring drew more than 700 participants and featured more than two dozen WMU programs and projects. The eyes and ears of legislators who make critical decisions about the University were focused on our successes and contributions to the state.
Those WMU success stories are the result of the hard work and ingenuity of our entire University community. Such accomplishments will once again be on display for policymakers across the state at the second annual WMU Day at the Capitol May 27.
Organizers are soliciting and accepting proposals, due Friday, March 27. Celebrating the theme of WMU's success, selected exhibits will be visually stimulating, interactive or hands-on and could include anything from a fine arts performance to a research project demonstration. Proposals will be evaluated based on the potential of the proposed exhibit for audience engagement and on achieving a broad and diverse representation of the University.
Applications will be reviewed, selected and confirmed by early April. Unfortunately, not all exhibit proposals can be accepted due to space limitations.
I ask you to support this event and encourage you to participate by submitting an exhibit proposal. This is a one-of-a-kind-event for a Michigan public college or university.
