Enable a student to become a job ready graduate by acquiring the technical skills, knowledge and experience required of a process engineer working in the pulp, paper, and related industries.

- Understand and apply principles of engineering concepts, pulp and paper processes, mathematics and science.
- Analyze and evaluate engineering information.

- Design and conduct experiments and analyze and interpret results.
- Apply computers and other modern engineering tools such as sensors and control systems as required by process engineers.
- Acquire an ability to process troubleshoot—defining the problem, analyzing the causes, defining alternate solutions and choose the best among them taking into account the long and short range costs, ethical and moral obligations, and safety and environmental requirements.
