Program Objectives

Enable a student to become a job ready graduate by acquiring the technical skills, knowledge and experience required of a process engineer working in the printing, imaging and paper industries.
Learning Outcomes
  • Understand and apply the basic concepts of image reproduction, including image capture, processing, transfer and output.

  • Understand the detailed mechanisms and operations of different printing processes, including image carrier formation and how to specify the appropriate process for a job.

  • Be able to apply digital methods of image creation, processing and output for multimedia applications.

  • Understand and apply the fundamentals of color reproduction for display and print.

  • Be able to design and conduct experiments in both a laboratory and production environment.

  • Become effective problem solvers in both idealized and practical situations.

  • Demonstrate competence in written and oral communication.
