Nichole (Nikki) Perk joined the department of Paper Engineering in
2005 as a recruiter. Ms. Perk enjoys meeting with interested high
school and community college transfer students who have never heard
of the title, "Paper Engineer," and describing the many various job
titles that are included under the Paper Engineering title.
Ms. Perk is available to travel to any interested high schools and
community colleges to present during class time or special events on
the subject of engineering, specifically explaining the
ever-changing and technologically advancing careers found in the
pulp and paper industries.
New efforts in environmental engineering, radio frequency
identification labels (RFIDs), recycling, printing and ink
development instrumentation, paper mill operation, process control,
manufacturing, research and development, and chemical manufacturing
make this a dynamic career for consideration. Because engineers are
trouble shooters, they improve the world by developing creative and
unique ways to problem solve and redesign methods and processes.
Career opportunities for Paper Engineers are limitless!
