Scholarships

Armstrong Energy Management Scholarships
These scholarships are for students pursuing the Energy Management option within chemical engineering. The awards are typically given to juniors and seniors and are awarded on an annual basis. Award amounts are in $3000–$4000/year range.   Application forms are available from Dr. Peter Parker

Paper Technology Foundation Scholarships
These scholarships are available to chemical engineers pursuing either the Pulp and Paper or the Pollution Abatement options.   Scholarships are available only during semesters in which the student is taking a PAPR prefixed class. Award amounts are determined by the Paper Technology Foundation, but are typically 75% (Pulp and Paper option) or 50% (Pollution Abatement option) of the full Paper Engineering scholarship amount.   Application must be made to the Paper Technology Foundation.

Chemical Engineering Endowed Scholarship
This is a new scholarship that will be available starting in Fall, 2006. This will be a nominal award (about $500). All chemical engineering students in good standing are eligible to apply, but only one or two awards will be given. Applications forms are available from Dr. Peter Parker.

 


Other Scholarships & Forms of Financial Aid
Many students receive some form of financial aid. Through a competitive process, WMU offers incoming freshman the Medallion Scholarship which covers most of the cost for an education at Western Michigan University. More information on WMU financial aid can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office.
