A Peace Corps Master's International Program

Required Core Courses (15 hrs.)

  • PSCI 5320 - Administration in Developing Countries
  • PSCI 6330 - Comparative National Development Strategies
  • PSCI 6360 - Seminar: Development Methods and Skills
  • PADM 6270 - Human Resources Administration

Development Analysis (3 hrs.)

Select one:

  • PSCI 5490 - Gender and Development
  • PSCI 6300/11 - Monitoring & Evaluation of International Development Projects
  • PSCI 6440 - Economic and Social Development Theory
  • ECON 5880 - Economic Development (may substitute ECON 6880 Economic Development I if ECON 5880 is not offered)

International and Comparative Studies (3 hrs.)

Select one:

  • PSCI 6400 - Seminar in Comparative Politics
  • PSCI 6410 - Foundations of Comparative Politics
  • PSCI 6500 - Developing Countries Seminar

Concentration Courses (9 hrs.)

Approved Elective: One course (3 hrs.) selected with the approval of the MIDA director.


Field paper: One course (6 hrs.)

  • PSCI 6390 - Peace Corps Field Paper (3 hours in the first year of Peace Corps and 3 hours in the second year)

The Field Paper consists of an analysis of a development program or project in the country of service. It should be completed no later than 21 months after arriving in country.

Peace Corps Service: Notification by Peace Corps of completed service.
