History of the Department

A brief history prepared for the Centennial Celebration in 2003.

Visiting the Department

We welcome visits from our alumni. Either contact one of your favorite professors, Dr Kevin Corder (the chair), or Denise Magnuson (the administrative assistant). We'll be happy to set aside time to meet you, and may even arrange a meeting with current students in the program.

Keeping in Touch

The Department is excited about keeping in touch with its alumni. The best way to do so is to make sure we have your e-mail address. Please drop a line to Denise Magnuson (she's our administrative assistant), with your name, address, year of graduation and degree. We'll keep you informed of news (and especially when a newsletter comes out) and events in the Department.   Also, tell us about your career and send along a picture.  We are featuring alumni on the web site!  Keep in touch!

How You Can Help

Our alumni have been very generous in the past in supporting student and faculty activities in the Department of Political Science (see the newsletter for Winter 2002 for a list of names). This support enables students to participate in regional and national activities, gain valuable experience in internships, and attend conferences, as well as helping faculty pursue research projects. If you can help, please print out the attached pdf file, fill it out and send in. We will be very grateful!

In addition to our general scholarship and development fund, we have created a fund in honor of the contributions of former Professor Bill Ritchie. Contributions can be directed to the "William A. Ritchie Memorial Fund."
