The following rates do not represent the full cost of a trial or test. Trial plans are unique and test protocols vary and their differences do affect the pricing. The following rates do not include shipping or material costs which also affect the price. Pilot Plant printing press and testing rates (in US dollars) include operator. One full day of press time is an 8-hour day: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST Monday through Friday, except holidays. Start-up and shutdown time is included in this 8-hour period. Minimum press time is 1/2 day or any 4 hour period between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST. Full day press use includes lunch.

| Testing | ||
The Pilot Plants of WMU are home to a very large inventory of testing equipment for evaluating paper, coating, ink, and print quality. This equipment and operators are available for contract testing and reporting. Hourly rates vary between $85—$230 / hr and depend upon the test and number of operators required. |

Printing Pilot Plant Director — Minimum $75/hour + travel expenses. Consulting is available on-site, off-site, or at your customer’s facility. Rates vary slightly depending on scope of project. Additional staff members can also be used at various rates dependent on experience and scope of work. |

All Materials and supplies ordered or from WMU stock and used during a press run are invoiced at cost plus a 20% handling fee. This includes plates, cylinders, inks, solvents, alterations or additions, cleaning supplies, waste disposal, shipping costs, etc.
The University will send an invoice upon completion of the work. Pay within 30 days to avoid 1.5% monthly finance charge.
Cancellation Policy — To avoid monetary penalty, cancel pilot runs at least 21 days before the first booked run date. Canceling within 20 days before the first booked run date will incur the following cancellation fees: 20% of total booked value if canceled 15—20 days before, 40% if canceled 8—14 days before, and 80% if canceled 0—7 days before.
