The philosophy department
encourages the academic life of its members through bi-weekly "brown
bags" where members of the department hear and discuss current
research over lunch (which is presumably brought in a brown bag).
Brown bag presentations occur bi-weekly in the department conference
room. Graduate students are encouraged to participate since the brown
bags can be useful for developing skills in professional academic
life. In addition, we are privileged to have visiting scholars every year. These speakers bring cutting-edge research to the department by presenting research and engaging members of the department informally. Upcoming events include:
