Graphic Packaging Mill Tour, Friday, December 5, 4-6 p.m.,
Kalamazoo, MI; and WMU CEAS Paper Engineering Open House, Saturday,
December 6, 9-noon, CEAS, Kalamazoo, MI
Please join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of Graphic Packaging,
the nation's largest paper recycling mill, located in downtown
Kalamazoo. WMU Paper Engineering representatives and students,
along with Graphic Packaging engineers and Bronco Alumni will
introduce the career concept of Paper Engineering. Parents and
students are invited to tour this facility to see first-hand how
paper is recycled and then immediately made into boxboard again!
Then, on Saturday, December 6, join us from 9-noon for an in-depth
Open House on Paper Engineering as a major, our 60+ year old program
at WMU, career opportunities, Paper Technology Foundation
Scholarships of $20,000+. Plus, meet with current WMU PE students
and faculty and take a tour of our new $72 million Engineering
College. The event is free but you must register by email to:
Nichole.Perk@wmich.edu. Please include your name, high school
name and expected graduation date, ACT math and science scores, and
your mailing address and phone number, along with the total number
of persons attending. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
