Welcome to Family Weekend 2008

Oct. 31 - Nov. 2


This year's events include a variety of on-campus activities. Highlights of the weekend include Halloween activities on Friday, Classes without Quizzes, an interest/expo session, pre-game tailgate buffet, football game, and a new Sunday event, the "Grab the Reins" Brunch. Choose whatever appeals to you.

Advance registration for you and your student is necessary for the pre-game tailgate buffet and Sunday Brunch. The tailgate will include visits by the Bronco Marching Band and Buster Bronco, as well as members of WMU's senior administration. Sunday Brunch will include the awards presentation for the "Grab the Reins" student essay contest. This contest invites students to write about a family member or guardian who helped them become the Bronco they are today.

The Family Weekend registration and welcome area will be located in the Bernhard Center Friday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Please stop by to get your name tags, meal tickets, and schedule of events.

Parking Information

Free parking is available in campus lots and non-reserved parking spaces throughout the weekend. However, there will be a $5 parking fee in any football associated parking lot on Saturday, November 1, 2008; Participants must pay the $5 fee to the parking lot attendants in these lots.

If hockey fans arrive while football parking attendants are still on duty, they will also have to pay $5. If they arrive after the attendants leave, parking for hockey is free.
