Submitting Assignments

Accessing Assignments

    1. To check the assignments that are currently available, click on "Assignments" on the left-hand menu in a course section.

    2. This will take you to a page listing all available assignments for a course, including assignments that are currently late, but still open for submission. Click on an assignments to access the submission area.

    3. Make sure you read the instructions for each assignment before submitting.

Preparing and Submitting an Assignment

In some cases, the instructions will require you to type your response in the Submission HTML Creator field. Other instructions may require you to submit a document as an attached file, in Microsoft Word format (.doc) or as a web page (.html/.htm) or PowerPoint (.ppt).

    1. Create the file that you need to submit and save it to a location on your computer that you can easily retrieve from later (the Desktop is an example of a typical location). Once you have completed your assignment, return to the Blackboard Vista assignment submission page.
    2. Click on "Add Attachments" (located beneath the Submission dropbox).

    1. A pop-up window will appear for adding attachments.

    2. Click on the "My Computer" icon. An "Open" window will appear.

    3. Select your file(s) and click "Open". The files will upload to your course (amount of time varies on file size). The file name will appear above the "Add Attachments" button, as shown below.

    4. Confirm that everything is either typed in the Submission field OR attached (per the instructor's instructions) and click "Submit".

    5. You will receive a confirmation message that your assignment has been submitted.
