Web Forms On homepages.wmich.edu Students, faculty and staff with Web sites on homepages.wmich.edu may utilize Gform to create online forms within their site. (Gform was retired on www.wmich.edu, but no retirement date for homepages has yet been determined. PHP is not available on homepages.wmich.edu.) On www.wmich.edu Gform, the application utilized for online forms at WMU over the past ten years, was retired from www.wmich.edu on May 1, 2009. Any Gforms on www.wmich.edu are non-functional as of that date. To tell if your online forms utilize Gform, view the source code for your form and look towards the bottom for lines that contain the word "gform". If you do not find any, you are not impacted by this process. It is recommended that Web forms on www.wmich.edu use PHP. OIT has made some basic sample forms that use PHP to process submissions available for download from the Webadmin area. Additional instructions are linked below. Accounts on www must be provisioned to run PHP. If you wish to create online forms using PHP, check your server files to see if they contain a folder named data. If you have that folder in your server space, your account is provisioned. Do not delete that folder or you will remove your ability to run PHP scripts. If you do not find that folder, open a ticket with the Help Desk to request that your account be provisioned to run PHP. Be sure to include your www account name and your contact information. Be aware that it could take several days for your account to be provisioned.
* Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart (prevents bots/spammers from automatically submitting your forms) Questions regarding WMU online forms should be directed to the Help Desk at 387-HELP, Option 1.
