How to Secure Web Pages If you have pages on your Web site that are either providing or asking for personal information, e.g. ID numbers, name, address, or phone information, you will want to have those pages served using the secure protocol (https). Using the secure protocol encrypts information sent between your browser and the Web page and your Web page and the browser. This prevents anyone running a sniffer program to read the information.
