Bronco NetID

The primary computer account available to all current faculty and staff members and verified emeriti and retirees is called a Bronco NetID. These accounts are created automatically after Human Resources has processed the new hire information. A Bronco NetID is used for all official WMU communication and access to online services offered through the GoWMU portal, and electronic communications services, such as:

  • Communicating with your students and colleagues
  • E-mail, electronic file space, and a personal Web site
  • Access for WMU and MichNet modem services
  • Registration for your personal computer on WMUnet and Wireless Western

Bronco NetIDs are issued with a temporary password which must be activated before the account can be used. To activate your password, go to gowmu.wmich.edu and click either "First Time Logging in" or "Set Your Password". When you activate your password, you will be prompted to create a challenge phrase. This will allow you to reset your password if you've forgotten it.
