All high school graduates interested in the B.S.N. must apply to WMU and declare "pre-nursing" as their intended major. The Bronson School of Nursing receives notification of these applications.
The typical path of admission for a high school graduate is admission to the pre-nursing program, and application to the professional nursing program later, when pre-nursing program prerequisite courses are nearly complete. Please note: Admission to the Pre-nursing curriculum does not guarantee admission to the Professional Nursing Program.
High school graduates who demonstrate excellent academic performance in their high school curriculum, particularly in sciences, and have high ACT (or equivalent) scores, will be considered for direct admission to the professional nursing program. The Bronson School of Nursing considers students for direct admission when reviewing "pre-nursing" applications that have been submitted to WMU.
