Program Description

The Summer REU program in Construction Engineering and Management is funded by the National Science Foundation. The program is designed to expose students to varied aspects of construction engineering and management research and encourage continued pursuit of research through entrance into graduate school. Additionally, participants will be involved with an array of professional and social activities which include field trips to construction sites and research centers in Michigan and/or Illinois, and visits to museums and parks in the region (from Chicago to Detroit). Over a ten-week period, the participants will work within academic research groups and will be involved with all phases of the research activity. After acceptance, participating students will work full-time  (40 hours per week) over this period.

      Students will receive a $5000 stipend for a ten-week period starting May 16, 2005.
