Admission Requirements

The programs welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, and Western has a variety of resources to help support students.  These include the Division of Multicultural Affairs, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Office of LGBT Student Services.  WMU uses an online application system for undergraduate and graduate applications. 

Undergraduate requirements

Application to our speech pathology and audiology program is competitive. To be considered for admission, you must:

  • Apply and be accepted at WMU.
  • Complete at least 40 semester hours of general university coursework and earn a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Meet with our undergraduate advisor.
  • Submit the Department Application by Feb. 1 for fall enrollment.

Graduate requirements

In addition to the University's graduate application, applicants must also complete an application through the CSDCAS portal, which can be found here. Additional details regarding admissions can be found here:
