David Rozelle dedicated his career to Western Michigan University students as associate professor of accountancy and faculty advisor for the international honor organization Beta Alpha Psi. Falling in love with the campus atmosphere when he was an undergraduate, Rozelle spent his career on WMU’s campus committed to helping students learn and excel, impacting thousands of lives through teaching.
Throughout his 38 years of service, Rozelle received two University-wide Teaching Excellence Awards, the University Distinguished Service Award, the Interfraternity-Panhellenic Council Teaching Excellence Award, the MACPS Outstanding Educator Award, and two Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisor of the Year Awards. Beta Alpha Psi earned superior status 23 out of the 25 years he was faculty advisor of the organization.
Rozelle earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo, a master’s degree in history from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in accountancy from WMU in 1975. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. He spends his retirement working in two fields of service, organ donation and serving hungry families in Kalamazoo. Rozelle currently serves on the committee for Gift of Life Michigan, works in three food pantries and is part of the financial committee of Kalamazoo’s Loaves and Fishes.
