Psyche Terry, B.B.A.’03
Founder and Chief Inspiration Officer
UI Global Brands
Psyche Terry is the founder and chief inspiration officer of UI Global Brands. UIGB started in 2009 when, after becoming pregnant and experiencing body changes, Terry formed Urban Intimates with her husband Vontoba to create lingerie and sleepwear to make women of various body types feel empowered and beautiful.
UI Global Brands has expanded into hair and skincare (Urban Hydration Naturals) as well as home cleaning, with products in 6000-plus stores; this includes a lingerie line in Macy’s, a bra line in Walmart, and a hair line in Sally’s. Because of her dedication, Terry became the first black woman to have a lingerie line sold in Walmart, Ross and Macy’s.
Terry, a mother of three, body builder, foodie and nutrition enthusiast, is taking a multicultural approach to health, business and creativity through #NatureUnitesUs, with the desire to join all different communities and peoples together in a pursuit of happier, healthier lifestyles.
Having recently partnered with WATERisLIFE, Urban Hydration Naturals has pledged to donate a portion of every sale to areas stricken by water scarcity around the world. In April 2016, Terry founded Girls That Rock, an organization helping girls graduate high school and apply for college. She also serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County, Texas, and is a member of Project Help Us Give.
Terry graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in business and went on to receive her MBA from the University of Nevada.
