  • An opportunity for business students to drop off a resume in order to receive written recommendations for improvement, within three days. Further details will be provided regarding the process at the time of drop-off.

ISM Career Night Sponsored by General Motors

Career Day Prep Event

  • The Zhang Career Center invites local professionals and recruiters to talk to business students about networking strategies, resumes, professional introductions, and interview tips. In addition, pre-business students seeking internships may choose to attend an internship panel as a breakout session and learn from upper-level students who have completed an internship.

Business Bash

  • An event for Haworth College of Business students. Coordinated by the Student Leadership Advisory Board (SLAB), Business Bash is designed to welcome new and returning business students and acquaint them with student organizations, academic departments, the Zhang Career Center, communication center and study abroad office. Stop by the career center table to pick up a career development guide and other great resources.

  • An event that acquaints new and returning accountancy students with the accounting firms actively recruiting WMU students. Coordinated by Beta Alpha Psi.

Marketing, Sales & Food Marketing Career Night Sponsored by Meijer

  • A networking event for students pursuing internships and entry level positions in marketing, with a focus on careers in food marketing, marketing and sales. Attend a keynote speaker presentation followed by networking.

Business Career Day

  • Business Career Day attracts more than 100 organizations to campus each October. Held in the Bernhard Center, the event offers all students an opportunity to meet with employer representatives to discuss internships and professional employment opportunities in business. Many employers conduct interviews on the day after Career Day, Thursday, Oct. 12.

Women and Men for Gender Equity and Equality: A Women in Leadership Series Event

  • This professional development program will provide an opportunity for students to connect with employers, faculty, staff and peers to learn about and discuss the importance of gender equity and equality. The Zhang Career Center invites all business students, both women and men, to engage in dynamic presentations from experienced industry professionals and to participate in interactive dialogue that will focus on how we can collectively promote and support gender equity and equality in the workplace.  Dinner will be provided.

Major Match-up Events

  • Major Match-Up is an event for all students wishing to explore Haworth College of Business Majors. A student could explore two majors each evening with senior level students who are knowledgeable and engaged. Students will be able to learn what it takes to be successful in the major, what the coursework is like, who the faculty are, which employers come to campus to hire students for internships and/or full time positions in this major, which organizations are aligned with the major, which events are best to attend, and any other questions that you may have. THIS IS A PEER TO PEER EVENT, designed to provide information to first and second year students who are exploring options in order to select a major.

BBA Orientation

  • Dates and Times: Sept.8, 1 p.m.-3 p.m.; Nov. 17, 1 p.m.-3 p.m.; Nov. 28; 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • BBA Orientation is required for students during the semester that they are finishing their last pre-business coursework. At this event, students will have the opportunity to hear from the dean or associate dean of the college, faculty members and employers and will also complete paperwork to declare a major in business.  Employers will participate in an "Insider's Scoop" panel, where students have the opportunity to ask questions about resumes, interviews, job search tips and any other questions they have about what they will need to do to become "career ready".
