Current Job Title:

ECM Design Engineer

Current Employer:

DENSO International America, Inc.

Describe your current job:

As a design engineer, I identify customer specifications for ECM products, then based on their requirements, design the proper components and/or assemble to meet them.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Constant workload in pursuit of a better product and upholding the already strong reputation of my company.

How did your internship impact your career development?

I worked at DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. for a year as a co-op in production engineering. This provided me with exposure to a professional work environment, experience, and a "foot in the door" to my new career.

What advice do you have for others pursuing a career similar to yours?

It is not always easy to prioritize your studies in college; there are always distractions. If you feel like you are being "left out," don't, because you are not, and there are always other opportunities for fun. Put forth the effort in class, and get as many internships or co-ops as you can. These not only provide you with financial income during college (at least most of the time), but are key to building a strong resume, and finding a career. This will separate you from everyone else.
